WhatsIn
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User" or "you") and SAS ILabs ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the WhatsIn iOS application ("App").
By downloading, installing, or using WhatsIn, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Economic Area) to use WhatsIn. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. License & Permitted Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use WhatsIn on Apple-branded devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA.
You may:
- Scan product barcodes and ingredient labels for food analysis
- Use AI-powered chat to ask questions about scanned products
- Set allergen preferences for personalized detection alerts
- Save and review your scan history
- Purchase a subscription to unlock premium features
- Use the referral program to earn additional daily scans
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense the App or any part of it
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
- Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features or scan limits
- Use the App in any way that could damage, overburden, or impair our services
- Create multiple accounts to exploit free-tier limits
- Use the App for unlawful or fraudulent activity
4. Account & Security
WhatsIn uses Google Sign-In via Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your Google account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately at saslabs.corp@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access
5. Subscriptions & Payments

Billing
- All payments are processed by Apple Inc. through the App Store and are subject to Apple's payment terms
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the time of purchase confirmation
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Prices are in US Dollars (USD). Prices may vary by region as determined by the App Store
Cancellation & Refunds
- You may cancel a subscription at any time via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then
- All refund requests are handled by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com
- We do not issue direct refunds outside of Apple's refund process
Free Tier
The free tier includes limited daily barcode scans and photo scans. Daily limits may be increased through the referral program. We reserve the right to change the free tier limits with reasonable notice.
6. User Content
You retain ownership of all content you submit to WhatsIn, including photos of product labels and AI chat messages ("Your Content"). By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the App's services.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the right to submit Your Content
- Your Content does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights
7. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
WhatsIn uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini and Perplexity AI) to analyze ingredients, provide health insights, and answer questions about food products. AI-generated content:
- Is provided for informational purposes only and should not be considered medical advice
- May contain inaccuracies, omissions, or outdated information
- Should not replace professional medical, dietary, or allergy advice
- Is not a substitute for reading product labels yourself, especially for serious allergen concerns
8. Prohibited Conduct
You must not use WhatsIn to:
- Submit content that violates any applicable local, national, or international law
- Attempt to extract, scrape, or harvest data from the App's services or APIs
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App
- Circumvent scan limits, referral system rules, or subscription verification
Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination.
9. Availability & Modifications
We strive to keep WhatsIn available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time with reasonable notice where possible
- Update these Terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
- Change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice — existing subscribers will not be affected until their next renewal
10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
No Warranty
WhatsIn is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Accuracy of Analysis
While we strive for accuracy, we are not responsible for errors in:
- AI-generated ingredient analysis or health assessments
- Barcode lookups from Open Food Facts or other data sources
- Allergen detection — product formulations may change without notice
- OCR text recognition from product labels
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SAS ILabs' total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of WhatsIn shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $10.00, whichever is greater.
We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or adverse health outcomes resulting from reliance on App content.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SAS ILabs and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or third-party rights
- Any dietary or health decisions made based on App content
12. Apple App Store – Additional Terms
The following terms apply in accordance with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and the Apple Developer Program License Agreement:
- These Terms are between you and SAS ILabs only, not Apple Inc.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for WhatsIn
- Apple is not responsible for any product claims relating to WhatsIn
- Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, or discharge of any third-party intellectual property infringement claims
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary
- In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA shall govern with respect to your use of the App on Apple devices
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at saslabs.corp@gmail.com. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or, where arbitration is not permitted, through courts of competent jurisdiction.
14. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to WhatsIn immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your license to use the App is immediately revoked
- You remain responsible for any outstanding subscription charges already processed by Apple
- Sections covering limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination
